Abstract

The recent increase in policy instruments in science, technology and innovation implemented in Argentina produced the definition or reformulation of science evaluation processes, causing the emergence of new criteria, systems, measures and discussions about deep consequences of its application in national and regional scientific development. This article seeks to analyze those scientific agencies that have their own science evaluation and to distinguish their particularities. The research confirms the presence of three main trends in science evaluation in Argentina: relative gender parity, signs of federalization and strong research orientation based on the definition of “strategic topics”.
